4 goes back in, and both sides are 11
The sample is 2(x + 3) = 10. The page distributes first, so the left side is 2x + 6. Then 2x + 6 = 10, then 2x = 4, then x = 2. Put 2 back into the original. The left side is 2(2 + 3) = 10. The right side is 10. The check matches, so 2 is the answer.
2x + 3 = 11 is the same shape. x = 4, and both sides are 11. 0.5x = 2 is read as one half of x, so x = 4, and the check is 2 = 2. Decimals in the box become fractions before any step, so 0.5 does not drift.
A square is not given a root
x^2 = 4 is the famous one with two roots. This page does not solve it. The status says it solves linear equations, and this one is not linear. There is no number under that sentence. A solver that prints 2 and stays quiet about -2 is worse than a refusal.
Two letters, a missing equals sign, and an empty box get the same treatment. x + y = 3 needs a second fact. The page asks for one letter. It does not guess that y is zero.
1 is not a solution of 1/(x - 1) = 2
The algebra gives x = 3/2. The domain line says x cannot be 1, because the denominator would be zero. 3/2 is not 1, and substitution makes both sides 2, so 3/2 stands.
(x - 1)/(x - 1) = 2 also produces 1. That value is excluded, so the result is no solution, not x = 1. The matching case, 1/(x - 1) = 1/(x - 1), is true for every allowed number, and the exception is 1. 3x + 1 = 3x + 2 drops the variable and leaves a false statement. No number works. 2(x + 1) = 2x + 2 leaves 0 = 0. Every number works.

Questions
What equations does this solve?
Linear ones, in one letter. 2x + 3 = 11, 2(x + 3) = 10, 0.5x = 2, and 1/(x - 1) = 2. A square, two letters, a word problem, or a photo is not solved. The page says it cannot, and it does not print a number.
How is the answer checked?
The candidate is put back into the original equation. For 2x + 3 = 11 the candidate is 4, and both sides are 11. If the two sides differ, that candidate is not shown as the answer. An explanation does not count as a check.
What about a denominator?
1/(x - 1) = 2 has the answer 3/2, and x cannot be 1. (x - 1)/(x - 1) = 2 produces 1, then throws it out, because 1 makes the denominator zero. There is no solution. 1/(x - 1) = 1/(x - 1) is true for every number except 1.
