I opened a solitaire tab because I had ten minutes. The cards were under a video. The close control was not on the video. The video paused if I clicked anywhere else.
I did not finish the hand. I closed the tab.
That is the product. A Klondike table that is already dealt when the page finishes loading. Draw one or draw three. Undo as far as you want. A seed you can send. The shuffle is not a promised win. There is no ad slot on the felt.
I shipped it as the thirtieth free tool on Softery.io. Rank 62 of 1,761 on the research card I had open, queue item 26, editorial score 9.2. That score is an opinion from the ranking file, not a forecast of how many people will search for it tomorrow.
The Close Button Was Not There
I did not sit through Microsoft Solitaire Collection tonight. I read the threads that already named the tax.
One is titled as if the collection got worse, and it is about a thirty second clip with no mute. Score 3,356 on that thread. Another person wrote that the ad showed up twice in four games, sat there for about two minutes, and never grew a close control.
You have to close the app and reopen it to continue playing.
That sentence is the spec. A hand is a short loop. A clip between hands that you cannot dismiss turns the loop into a chore. This page has no ad slot.
The usual search result also wants an account before it will keep your streak. I do not keep a streak on a server. Wins and best times stay in this browser, split by draw one and draw three. Close the profile box. There is not one.
What the Autocomplete Already Said
The ranking file I used this sitting is the games and puzzles write-up. Under the bare head term "free online", the first completion is "free online solitaire". That bucket has 17 completions of its own, including klondike, no download, classic, and turn 3.
I did not invent a search volume for that list. Bing's autocomplete is a list of finishes, not a traffic report. The list is enough to pick Klondike over Spider and FreeCell for this page. Those two are later cards in the same file. This table is Klondike only.
Card game rules are not something I can copy as a product. That line is in the same write-up. The table is new code. It is not a wrapped Microsoft board.
The build note on that card said about 14 hours. I wrote a deal, the legal moves, undo, a hint, a seed, and a tap path that fits a phone. I did not import a canned board.
Fifty-Two Cards, Then You Stop
Klondike is one deck. Fifty-two cards. Seven columns. The first column gets one card, the second gets two, through seven. That is twenty-eight cards on the tableau. The last card in each column is face up. The other twenty-four go in the stock, face down. Four foundations start empty. Aces start them. You win when each foundation holds thirteen cards of one suit.
A red five sits on a black six. A packed run can move together. Only a king may fill an empty column. Those are the rules people already know. I did not add a scoring mode that pretends Vegas is happening in this tab.
The stock deals from the end of the leftover pile. Recycle pops the waste back onto the stock face down. You can recycle as often as you want. Some tables only let you go through the stock once. This page does not stop you.
The page says this on the seed line: this shuffle is not a promised win. Some deals cannot be finished. Hint will say so rather than invent a path.
Draw One or Draw Three
Draw one turns a single stock card onto the waste. Draw three turns three, and you play the top one. Switch the setting and the page deals a new hand. It does not try to keep the old tableau and pretend the stock still matches.
I default to draw one. It is the slower table, and it is the one you can finish on a phone without flipping past the card you wanted. Draw three is one tap away.
Stats are two rows, not one. Draw one and draw three keep their own played count, win count, and best time. A draw-three win does not rewrite a draw-one clock.
Mixpanel sees the draw setting as 1 or 3. It does not see the waste pile.
A Shuffle With a Name
Every hand has a seed. Eight characters from letters and digits. The deal hashes klondike: plus that seed, then runs Fisher-Yates with a mulberry32 generator. Same seed and same draw setting give the same first card every time.
Share copies that pair into the URL. It does not copy where you are in the hand. A friend who opens the link starts the same shuffle from card one. They do not inherit your undo stack. They do not inherit your stats. They do not see that you had the ace buried.
I could have shared the live position. That would have been a replay, and it would have leaked how far you got. A seed is a challenge. A snapshot is a spoiler. The page sends a challenge.
If you close the tab and come back on this same browser, the unfinished hand is still there. Deal again if you want a different seed. Clear saved game wipes the local hand and the settings on this machine. It does not wipe a friend's copy of a link you already sent.
Private Play Stays Private
A finished hand on this page is yours. I do not post it. I do not put it on a leaderboard. Share is a button you press, and the only thing it copies is the seed and the draw setting.
That is on purpose. The research card said not to auto-publish private play. A lunch game is not a content feed. If you want someone else on the same shuffle, you send the link. If you do not, the hand dies with this browser.
Stats follow the same rule. Played, won, and best time live next to the table, on this device, split by draw mode. Another phone does not see them. A new browser profile starts at zero. I cannot recover a best time you cleared. There is no account to restore from.
The URL in the address bar picks up the seed once you share, or once you load someone else's link. A quiet game you never shared stays a quiet game.
Hint Names One Legal Move
H, or the Hint button, looks at the board and names one move. Foundation first. Then a column. Then a card from the waste. Then a draw or a recycle.
It skips taking a card off a foundation to put it back on the tableau. That move is legal. It is also how you wander. The hint is a nudge, not a solver.
When the engine sees no move it will name, the status line says there is no move it can name, and that a shuffle is not a promised win. Undo, or deal again. It will not print a fake path so the timer looks kind.
Undo is the whole board, stacked. Every draw and every drop is a snapshot. There is no cap. You can walk back to the deal if you want.
The hint is free. There is no weekly pack. There is no video in front of it.
Tap Fits a Phone
The research card said iPhone Safari without a wrapper app. Drag on a 375 pixel screen puts a finger on two columns at once. I did not ship drag.
You tap a card, then tap where it should go. A second tap on an ace sends it to the foundation. The columns overlap so seven piles fit. U undoes. H names a move. D draws from the stock.
That is slower than a mouse on a wide desk. It is faster than missing the ten you meant and dropping it on the nine in the next pile.
The clock keeps running while you think. I tick the display once a second. I do not rewrite the saved hand on every tick. The save follows a move, a new seed, a finished hand, or a setting change.
What Mixpanel Sees
Softery.io loads Mixpanel and Google Analytics on every page, including this one. After the page has loaded you can unplug the cable and keep playing. The shuffle, the moves, undo, and the hint all run in this tab.
Those analytics calls never get the cards. They never get the seed. They get the draw setting, a time band, and whether the hand finished.
The time bands are under 2 minutes, 2 to 5, 5 to 15, and 15 plus. Hint counts go out as 0, 1, 2 to 4, or 5 plus. A size bucket is not a stopwatch. If you want the real elapsed time, look at the timer on the page. That number stays here.
I will not write a sentence that says the whole domain goes quiet. The site still has its usual requests. The game does not add a third party for the cards.
What I Counted on the Page
The tool title with the site name is 31 characters: Klondike Solitaire, then Softery.io. The description is 145 characters. The copy under the table is 502 words in five sections plus the questions. Four questions. The schema on the page uses those answers word for word.
The catalog line on the hub is 159 characters. Thirty free tools, and this one is in that sentence as Klondike solitaire.
I won't print a Bing volume I did not measure. I won't print an App Store rating I did not look up tonight. The numbers that landed here came from the deal, the timer buckets, the ranking file, and the page I just counted. The research card had a ratings figure. A second file in the same folder had a different one. When two sources disagree, I leave the number out.
The Usual Tab, and This One
| The usual solitaire tab | This page | |
|---|---|---|
| First thing you see | An account wall, or a video on the waste | Seven columns, already dealt |
| Draw | Buried in a settings menu, or missing | Draw 1 and Draw 3 on the table |
| Undo | One step, or a daily cap | The whole hand, no cap |
| Same shuffle tomorrow | Often no | Seed plus draw in the link |
| Win promise | A badge, or silence | Named: not a promised win |
| Ads | Between hands, sometimes with no close | None on this page |
| Stats | On their server, behind a login | On this device, by draw mode |
I left Spider, FreeCell, mahjong, poker, and hearts off the table. Those names are in the catalog so search can drop this page when you type them. If you want Spider, this is the wrong URL.
What This Page Will Not Do
It will not play a two-deck layout. It will not guarantee a win. It will not auto-publish a private hand. Share is a seed you copy. Stats stay here unless you copy that link yourself.
It will not ask you to install anything. It will not put a video over the stock. It will not call Microsoft, 247, or anyone else for a deal.
If you want another quiet game in this tab, Sudoku Online is already live. That page gives you a unique grid and a hint that names the technique. This page gives you a deck.
Open the Table
- Open Klondike Solitaire. The deal is already there.
- Pick Draw 1 or Draw 3. That choice deals a new hand.
- Tap a card, then tap where it goes. Second tap on an ace sends it up.
- Use Hint when you stall. If it says the shuffle is not a promised win, believe it.
- Copy the share link if you want the same shuffle tomorrow, or on a second phone.
That is the whole loop. Ten minutes. No video in the middle of it.
